I don't know why more SUNY college students aren't playing disc. Do we need to post flyers around campus? more interest could lead to a club and then maybe even a course. any ideas? Albany campus would be perfect for a dg course.

Steve,
go design one on the grounds of the campus and start playing.....put an ad in the school website? get the word out that you are the best disc golfer in the school....tell the ultimate players that they are fags and challenge them to beat you in a game of disc golf

Josh Weinstock plays (or at least used to) in the Ultimate Albany summer league. That's where him and I first met actually. Jeff Jankowski too.

I was simply asking how one might go about generating interest in the sport on campus. Albany needs a course and the SUNY campus would be perfect.

Flyers? Stand on a soapbox? Advertise the Jammer on campus, see who shows from the college..........

Give me some flyers Mish and I will post 'em and/or hand some out. No problem. I can't print color anything here at my work.

The existing flyer is mostly tourney details, no DG basics, it doesn't have any write-up about the sport in general or a catchy slogan. A different flyer needs to be created for a handout. Use some of that college brainpower to write up an eye-catching blurb that will bring the newbies runnin' Wink

This sounds like fun. Does any one else think so, too? Is this really the best place to try? What season would be the best to start?

It could work for these short days when there is not enough time for 18 at the J-Park when I get out of work early.

Here's another project for school design and art classes.
