|
|
| I have 1 basket ready, 3 on their way and I started cutting the lines. Its going to be a mini course in 2 senses. Only 4 baskets, and the tee boxes will only be 75-150 feet away. This is because the course will be used primarily for my students. There will be informal tee boxes further out for us. It could also make a great ace race course. The baskets are set at each corner of a wooden area. My intentions are to have multiple tee boxes near each basket so that you have the choice to go either to the left or the right, or even across the woods at the furthest basket. I could use some help plotting it out and cutting if anyone is interested. I know mot of you are already putting a lot of time in to the respected courses of the area. I will be cutting and plotting away this Saturday if anyone is wants in. (There's beer in it for you!!) Otherwise, I'll keep you posted. I'll definitely host a small tourney once the baskets are set (maybe an ace race considering the size). Post any thoughts you have on my plans. Cheers. |

I lived next door for 13 years. It is across Route 4 from the Home Depot and up Grandview Drive in Defreestville: Woodland Hill Montessori School 100 Montesorri Place, Rensselaer, NY 12144-9509

Abe has a mini course as well on his renatl prop near that address. Abe was at dubs Tues. if you don't know him you should say hello. he lives on Olcott Ln. in Rens not too far away. _________________ "The loudest person in the room is the weakest person in the room." Frank Lucus |

| The woodland hill course is better called a short course, not a course for mini-discs. |

I agree-when I first saw the header I thought you were talking about mini discs.
Jake-which baskets are you using?
Can you add more baskets ? Or is the area too small?
I like your idea of the 4 baskets on the corners of a wooded area. You can play 12 holes this way.
Keeping it short should make it challenging for your students. _________________ Scoontars Disc Golf Art Store is now Open on Facebook

| Jake, I live 5 minutes from there. Does it have to be done this weekend? I would be more than willing to help out/design, but this weekend isn't good. Sorry Bro. |

Hey guys,
To answer some questions:
Yes, there is plenty of property to extend the course on in the future. It could easily be a full sized 9 hole course or event a compact 18er with some cutting and some careful planning.
No, it doesn't have to get done this weekend. It is most likely going to rain both days anyway, but I don't want to wait too much longer to get it plotted out.
Ven had the address right. It's right behind the Dunkin Doughnuts and Starbucks on North Greenbush rd. in Rensselear. Both of these locations are easily found on google maps, mapquest and most GPS.
I would love to talk to Abe about his course. If anyone has contact info for him please pass it on. I have been stuck working Tuesdays at EMS the past few weeks and haven't made it to doubles. I am trying to get someone to switch days with me asap. If I'm not there this week, please give Abe my number- 518-368-6835.
Mini course, Short course, whatever. Who has multiple mini baskets?
The baskets I am using are being made by the school superintendent. He is a custom welder and a disc golfer. He has connections at a steal company and is saving me a boatload by building them himself. I am getting them all powder coated as well. I have a buddy who has a full oven setup. I have one built already. It's legit. you would have no complaints playing on it, I guarantee.
By the way. To those of you who offered up some discs for my program; I have been telling the kids that you guys are all "Pro Disc Golfers". They liked the idea of throwing a disc thrown by a "Pro". I know some of you are legitimate pros and some just play for dollars in doubles tournaments, but why split hairs. Consider yourselves flattered. And thank you again.
