I like the Thanksgiving idea. I will stop by the park offices and look into getting the pavillion. Is that what we want? It is probably better than just setting up tents in the parking lot. There is a fee to rent it but I will see if we can get that waived.

The Turkey Throwdown, Sat. Nov 27th?

I'd be a bit leary about a thanksgiving weekend tourney- lots of people travel and committed to family stuff. Just throwing the idea out there.

The one and only turkey tournament happened at woodstock a few years ago. There were about 20 people? Including folks from CNY. Interest was gaining the next year, until the course got pulled.

Still, you might want to have a grander grand opening. Or maybe lot's of people will show up the 27th and it will be.

I know this is probably taking on more than I should handle, but what about a Sunday Ace Race @ CPS after The Battle?..........We already got players in the area and a new course/new Discraft disc combo could convince players into sticking around for the extra day.

just a thought.......... Wink

I think that would work. Would an ace race be good for beginning players? We will help you as much as possible. We will also have a grand opening but it won't really be a tournament. Maybe just tours, lessons, and a couple of contests.

So Labor Day weekend Sat 9/4 Battle of Saratoga, then Sunday 9/5 Ace Race at CPS.

And, yes an Ace Race is a good time for beginners, at least it was for me.
